How does the booking process work?

It's simple — four steps:

  • Fill the form on our Plan a Trip page (takes 3 minutes)
  • A travel expert will WhatsApp you within 24 hours to understand your preferences and finalise details
  • We send you a custom itinerary with stays, transport, guide, and all bookings confirmed
  • Just show up — everything is sorted

There is no commitment or payment until you are fully happy with the itinerary.

Can I customise a trip or is everything fixed?

Everything is fully customisable. Our listed trips are starting templates — your travel expert will adjust the itinerary, duration, accommodation type, activities, and pace based on your preferences and budget.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season destinations (Himachal Pradesh in summer, Rajasthan in winter, Goa in December), we recommend booking at least 3–4 weeks in advance as permits, stays, and guides fill up quickly.

For offbeat or South India destinations, 1–2 weeks is usually sufficient. Last-minute bookings (under 72 hours) are possible but availability is not guaranteed.

Do you plan trips for individuals or only groups?

Both! We plan trips for solo travellers, couples, friend groups of any size, and families. Solo travellers can join our scheduled group trips or opt for a fully private itinerary — your choice.

What is included in the trip price?

Every HippieYathra trip includes:

  • Vetted hostel, homestay, or camping accommodation
  • Local transport (bus, shared cab, tempo traveller)
  • Certified local guide for the entire duration
  • All permits and entry tickets
  • 24/7 WhatsApp support from your trip coordinator
  • Zero hidden charges — the price you see is final

Flights and personal meals (unless specified) are typically not included.

How do I pay?

We accept UPI, net banking, credit/debit cards, and bank transfer. For trips above ₹5,000, we offer a 50% advance + balance 7 days before departure payment structure.

Are there any hidden charges I should know about?

Absolutely not — radical honesty is one of our core values. The price quoted in your itinerary is what you pay. Any optional add-ons (adventure activities, upgrades) are clearly listed separately, and you choose if you want them.

Are your trips safe? What safety measures do you have?

Safety is non-negotiable for us. Every trip includes:

  • Vetted and background-checked local guides
  • Emergency contact protocols and first-aid trained guides on treks
  • Pre-trip altitude and health briefings for mountain destinations
  • 24/7 WhatsApp emergency line with your coordinator
  • All stays are personally inspected by our team before listing
Is travel insurance included?

Travel insurance is not included in the base price, but we strongly recommend purchasing it — especially for trek and adventure trips. We can suggest reliable, affordable policies if you need help. For high-altitude treks, insurance covering emergency evacuation is essential.

What if I have dietary restrictions or health conditions?

Please mention any dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies) and relevant medical conditions in your booking form or to your trip coordinator. We accommodate most requirements and will pre-brief your guide and accommodation providers.

Is it safe to travel solo with HippieYathra?

Yes — in fact, many of our most popular trips are solo-focused. You'll be joining a group of like-minded solo travellers with a certified guide. We carefully vet all accommodation and guide partners for solo traveller safety.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer flexible cancellation up to 48 hours before departure with a full refund. For cancellations made between 48 hours and 7 days before departure, a 25% charge applies. For details on all tiers, see our full Cancellation Policy →

Can I reschedule my trip instead of cancelling?

Yes — we offer one free reschedule per booking up to 7 days before departure, subject to availability. Simply WhatsApp your coordinator with the new dates you'd prefer.
